Teens

Our Teens (ages 14 to 17), train in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, sparring (contact) as well as Life Skills Self-defense.

In this class, teens develop self-respect, respect for others and self-confidence while working on making good choices in life. Teens must also turn in ‘Joy of Discipline’ checklists completed by parents and teachers in order to advance to their next belt level. Parents, teachers and Martial Arts Insructors use these checklists to evaluate the student’s progress in completing assignments, maintaining a respectful attitude completing homework and chores and showing respect in the home and in school. We believe this responsibility training helps teens live better in the home, in school and everywhere they go in the world.
We also teach the importance of using Martial Arts only for self defense and stress peaceful conflict resolution and self-discipline. Becoming a successful Martial Arts student requires the development of both body and mind. At Chang’s Martial Arts we understand and stress the importance of each to our teen students.
